Behind the Lens

The art of noticing.

I’m Seric, a travel photographer originally from northern California, now a digital nomad living life as a wanderer. This journey has taken me across oceans, and through continents around the world. My seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge about the world, its landscapes, and all the beings that dwell within it drives me to explore both the natural world and urban landscapes. From the redwood groves in which I was born, to the bustling streets of London, and the dizzying heights of the Andes — my curiosity seemingly knows no end.

What I value most in photography is its ability to slow the spin of the Earth on its axis for me. It’s a grounding and meditative experience to actively center yourself right where your two feet (and your lens) are to capture the feeling of place that where words may falter. My work is less about chasing an Instagram trend and more about noticing the details, and the essence that make a place special, what makes it beautiful.

It is a place where the rain and the coquíes write the soundtrack. Of all the places I’ve photographed in Puerto Rico, none has held me quite like this rainforest. It’s…
